Moscato Tap & Jazz Fest
MILANO CAPITALE MONDIALE DELLA TAP DANCE E DELLA MUSICA JAZZ.
Si svolgerà a Milano, dal 21 al 25 aprile, la quarta edizione del Moscato Tap&Jazz Fest, che attirerà all’ombra della Madonnina alcuni tra i migliori artisti e ballerini del mondo e sarà – per migliaia di appassionati – l’occasione per confrontarsi con i migliori maestri sulla scena mondiale. Il tutto all’insegna di due grandi ingredienti: la tap dance e la musica jazz.
Corsi, esibizioni, jam-session e spettacoli vedranno la partecipazione, tra gli altri, di ballerini del calibro di Colleen Kelly, la nipote dell’indimenticabile Gene, protagonista di “Ballando sotto la pioggia”, il pluripremiato Jason Samuels Smith, vincitore di un Emmy e di unAmerican Choreography Award, Derick K. Grant, direttore e coreografo del fortunatissimo “Imagine Tap!”, la newyorchese Michela Marino Lerman, il vincitore del Flo-Bert Award Charles Goddertz, Avalon Rathgeb, che nel 2012 si è esibita alla cerimonia di apertura delleOlimpiadi di Londra, e l’italiano Giuseppe Galizia. E ancora, tra i musicisti, il vocalist Albert Hera e il batterista Israel Varela, che ha lavorato – tra gli altri – con Andrea Bocelli e Pino Daniele.
Il festival si aprirà il 21 aprile con un Party a ingresso gratuito e un open jam che avrà luogo presso l’Area Dance di via G. B. Cassinis 33 (MM3 Porto di Mare, ore 19).
Dal 22 al 25 aprile, presso l’Area Dance di via G. B. Cassinis 33, verranno organizzate lezioni di tap dance per ballerini di ogni livello e stile, dal beginner al professional, dal broadway all’hoofer style. Inoltre saranno organizzate lezioni di solfeggio ritmico, hear training, canto corale, master class con professionisti jazz e lezioni individuali di canto e musica strumentale. Gli insegnanti – come già detto – sono stati selezionati tra i più celebri artisti a livello mondiale. Le lezioni saranno accompagnate esclusivamente con musica dal vivo, che verrà eseguita dalla Moscato Tap&Jazz Band: questa originale novità – senza precedenti nelle manifestazioni del genere – permetterà un migliore connubio tra musica e ballo, ricreando le magiche atmosfere degli anni Venti e Trenta e rendendo il Moscato Tap&Jazz Festival un evento unico al mondo. Le lezioni si svolgeranno ogni giorno dalle 10 alle 19.
Venerdì 22 aprile alle 21.30, in una location ancora da definirsi, si svolgerà la Tap Jam-session, alla quale parteciperanno tutti i musicisti e i tap dancers coinvolti nel Festival. La serata meneghina sarà dedicata al virtuosismo e alla sperimentazione e permetterà al pubblico di ammirare da vicino alcuni tra i più grandi professionisti attivi sulla scena mondiale.
Sabato 23 aprile, alle 21.30, presso il centralissimo Auditorium San Fedele di via Hoepli 3, avrà luogo la Moscato Tap&Jazz Fest Gala, uno spettacolo unico e coinvolgente che vedrà avvicendarsi sul palco i big della tap dance sulle note delle star del jazz. In concerto Albert Hera e Israel Varela & Moscato Tap&Jazz Band con l’avvicendarsi sul palco dei grandi Jason Samuels Smith, Derick K. Grant, Charles Goddertz, Colleen Kelly, Michela Marino Lerman, Avalon Rathgeb e Tap&Go on Stage, con l’anteprima in assoluta della compagnia di tap dance MoscatoTapMilano. Durante il gala, verrà assegnato il prestigioso Golden Heel Award, il premio al miglior tapper.
Domenica 24 aprile, alle 21.30, presso il Teatro Blu di via Cagliero 26, si svolgerà la Moscato Tap&Jazz Conference & Youth-Generation Star, nel corso della quale i giovani allievi avranno l’opportunità di esibirsi di fronte a un vasto pubblico e alla presenza dei maestri del Festival, che valuteranno le loro prestazioni. Durante la serata saranno assegnate diverse borse di studio per i festival internazionali. Le esibizioni saranno accompagnate dalla musica della Moscato Tap&Jazz Band.

MILAN BECOMES TAP DANCE AND JAZZ MUSIC CAPITAL OF THE WORLD
Fourth edition of Moscato Tap&Jazz Fest will take place from April 21st to 25th in Milan, attracting some of the best artists and dancers of the world in the shade of the “Madonnina”, statue of the Virgin Mary atop Milan Cathedral and symbol of the city. It will also be an opportunity for thousands of enthusiasts to confront the best masters on the world scene. The whole thing will be in the sign of two big ingredients: tap dance and jazz music.
Dancers such as Colleen Kelly, nephew of the unforgettable Gene, main character of “Singing in the rain”, award-winning Jason Samuels Smith, winner of an Emmy and an American Choreography Award, Derick K. Grant, director and choreographer of the super lucky “Imagine Tap!”, New Yorker Michela Marino Lerman, winner of the Flo-Bert Award, Charles Goddertz, Avalon Rathgeb, who performed during the opening ceremony of London Olympic Games in 2012, and the Italian man Giuseppe Galizia will be present at the classes, performances, jam session and shows scheduled for the festival. Moreover, musicians such as vocalist Albert Hera and drummer Israel Varela (who even worked with Andrea Bocelli and Pino Daniele) will attend the festival.
The fest will start on April 21st with a free-entry party and an open jam at Area Dance ( Via G. B. Cassinis 33, MM3 Porto di Mare, 7pm).
From April 22nd to 25th tap dance classes for dancers of every level and style (from beginner to professional, from hoofer to broadway style) are scheduled. Moreover, students may attend rhythmic solfège, hear training, choral singing classes and master classes with jazz experts and individual singing and instrumental classes. Teachers have been selected among the most famous artists in the world. Classes will exclusively be accompanied by live music played by Moscato Tap&Jazz Band. This is something unprecedented among events similar to this one, allowing a better combination between music and dance, recreating the magic atmosphere of the 20s and 30s and making the Moscato Tap&Jazz Fest such a unique event. Classes will be held from 10am to 7pm everyday.
On Friday, April 22nd at 9.30pm (location not yet been laid down) there will be a Tap Jam session with the participation of all the musicians and tappers involved in the festival. The Milanese night will be dedicated to virtuosity and experimentation and it will allow audience to take a closer look at the great experts who are active on the world stage.
On Saturday, April 23rd at 9.30pm, Moscato Tap&Jazz Fest Gala will take place at the very central Auditorium San Fedele (Via Hoepli 3). This will be a unique and exciting show, during which tap dance bigs will perform to the tune of jazz music stars.
In concert: Albert Hera and Israel Varela & Moscato Tap&Jazz Band, with tap performances of the great Jason Samuels Smith, Derick K. Grant, Charles Goddertz, Colleen Kelly, Michela Marino Lerman, Avalon Rathgeb plus Tap&Go on Stage, premiere of Moscato Tap Milano tap dance company. During the night the prestigious Golden Heel Award will be assigned to the best male and female tappers.
On Sunday, April 24th at 9.30pm, Moscato Tap&Jazz Conference & Young-Generation Star will take place at Teatro Blu (Via Cagliero 26), where young students will have the chance to perform in front of a big audience and the teachers of the festival, who will evaluate their performances. During the night scholarship for international festivals will be assigned. Performances will be accompanied by the music of Moscato Tap&Jazz.
